Blocked Fallopian Tubes

Are obstructed fallopian tubes a reason for not being able to conceive?

Jammed fallopian tubes are one of the most important reasons for females to not get pregnant. They come with no symptoms (most of the times), but some threats can add on to the possibility of developing this condition. Doctors, medically call this term as occlusion.

The tubes are muscular in shape, which is lined with fragile hair kind of structures. They work in both directions, which aid the eggs to go from ovaries to the womb, and also help sperm travel from the womb.

Each tube ends up in a pili or fimbriae, they are similar to a finger. The fimbriae’s are able to catch and guide eggs once released by the ovary.

The fallopian tubes are very important for conceiving because without them the eggs will not have a place for fertilization (most of the eggs get fertilized there)

In case, in any part of fallopian tube any damage is found out, be it by surgery or anything else, they become blocked.
