On a surgical day, the patient has been given general anesthesia for proper sedation so that the patient could not feel any pain or discomfort during the uterus removal.
During the surgery, small incisions are made to lower the belly button and the small camera has been inserted to see the bigger image of the uterus on the projector. Then with the specialized instruments uterus of the patient has been removed.

SUPRACERVICAL HYSTERECTOMY

A supracervical hysterectomy is a procedure in which portion of the uterus above the cervix has been removed rather than complete removal of the uterus

PARTIAL HYSTERECTOMY

Hysterectomy is the complete removal of the uterus and in this procedure ovaries of the women are preserved. This procedure is also known as a partial hysterectomy.

COMPARISON OF PARTIAL AND COMPLETE OR TOTAL HYSTERECTOMY

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy is the surgical procedure in which the uterus along with the cervix has been removed but usually, the terms partial or complete Laparoscopic Hysterectomy confuse the patients but both terms are accurate from the medical point of view but these both differ from each other as follows

  • In the partial Laparoscopic Hysterectomy uterus of the females is removed and ovaries are detached from the uterus but are not removed. After this procedure menopause does not occur and the menstrual cycle does not happen but the ovaries perform their usual function after the procedure
  • Opposite to partial Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, incomplete and total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy uterus, tubes and ovaries are removed completely and the patient will have menopause and periods after the procedure.
