Laparoscopic Surgery Procedure and Benefits

Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure which helps in diagnosing the organs inside the abdomen. The surgery is done with the help of an instrument called a laparoscope. It is very thin and long-tube which uses high-intensity light and it has a camera at the front. The images of the entire surgery are visible on a video monitor. The allows the surgeon to see inside your body without the need for open surgery.

What is the procedure of Laparoscopic Surgery?

Before starting the surgery, the patient is given general anesthesia. Due to this, he will be sleeping throughout the entire surgery. The anesthesia is inserted by giving an intravenous line into one of your veins. On the other hand, some patients are given local anesthesia. With the help of this, it numbs the area so that you don’t feel any pain. Although, the patient is awake throughout the entire surgery.

During Laparoscopic Surgery In Punjab, below the belly button, the surgeon makes an incision and inserts a small tube called cannula. It inflates your abdomen with carbon dioxide gas, which allows the organ to be seen more clearly.

Next, the surgeon will insert the device called laparoscope through the incision which allows the organs to be seen clearly in real time. The device has a front camera attached to it and displays the images on the screen.

Incisions size and the number will depend on the type of disease the surgeon is trying to treat or get rid of. Generally, there are 1 to 4 incisions made which are between the length of one and two centimeters. Due to the incisions, the other instruments are inserted.

Once the surgery is done, all the devices are removed and the incisions are closed with surgical tape or stitches. Sometimes the incisions are covered with bandages.
