Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure which helps in diagnosing the organs inside the abdomen. The surgery is done with the help of an instrument called a laparoscope. It is very thin and long-tube which uses high-intensity light and it has a camera at the front. The images of the entire surgery are visible on a video monitor. The allows the surgeon to see inside your body without the need for open surgery.

What is the procedure of Laparoscopic Surgery?

Before starting the surgery, the patient is given general anesthesia. Due to this, he will be sleeping throughout the entire surgery. The anesthesia is inserted by giving an intravenous line into one of your veins. On the other hand, some patients are given local anesthesia. With the help of this, it numbs the area so that you don’t feel any pain. Although, the patient is awake throughout the entire surgery.
