Which factors highly affect the success rate of the IVF procedure?

IVF has been a blessing in disguise for infertile couples. It has helped many of the couples who are either bearing female or male infertility issues, to get blessed with a healthy baby. Visiting an IVF centre in Punjab for the initial consultation is regarded as the beginning of the IVF journey. The most common question asked by the couples during the initial consultation is ‘What is the success rate of this procedure?

So in this article, you shall be getting to know about the success rates of the IVF procedure:

Dependency of the factors

The success rate of the IVF procedures heavily depends upon the following factors:

  • Age of couple

Only those couples can acquire the successful results from the procedure in which the age of the female partner is less than 30 and that of the male partner is less than 35. If the age of the couple is more than that, then there may arise some complications. Usually, after 30 years of age, the female partner is not good enough as far as the reproductive capabilities are concerned. She may not be able to take the pregnancy to the end.

  • Duration of the infertility

In many of the cases, it is observed that the couples are bothered by infertility problems after successfully giving birth to the first baby. So in those cases, the duration of infertility matters. If you have been trying to conceive for one year but have not achieved successful results, then you can surely visit the IVF centre. This kind of case comes under the secondary category of the infertility problem.

  • Type of the infertility

There are two aspects of infertility.

  • Primary

In this category, the couples have never conceived even for a single time.

  • Secondary infertility

This is the type of infertility in which the couples have successfully managed to conceive once. But after that, they have not been able to do so.

  • Quality matters

IVF procedure requires the good quality of eggs and sperms to make a good trait possessing embryo. If the quality of either the egg or the sperm is not good, then the embryo could not be carried till the end of the pregnancy.

  • Whether women are developing endometriosis

If the female partner is getting developed with uterine fibroids or endometriosis, then the success rate of the IVF procedure naturally goes down. It requires the treatment of endometriosis first to make the uterus stable to carry the child.

What is the effect of the frozen embryos on the success rate?

When the couples are opting up for freezing the embryo, then they highly escalate the success rate. The embryo is prepared when the male and female partners are good in their reproductive capabilities, which means the good quality of the eggs and the sperms are produced. The implantation of the embryo is done afterwards when the couple is ready to have another member in the family.
